Ashley has been studying classical piano since the age of five and received her Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from Transylvania University under the tutelage of Gregory Partain. Prior to college, she also studied under Connie Cook Glen of Indiana University and participated regularly in music festivals with the National Federation of Music Clubs, the Indiana State Fair,  and the Indiana State School Music Association. In 2009, Ashley placed second in Transylvania's concerto/aria competition with a Mozart concerto. She has studied piano extensively in Colorado, Indiana, Kentucky, and Austria, and in 2010 was awarded the Keenan Grant- a fully funded research grant which enabled her to study to study the relationship and powerful connection between music and culture in Dakar, Senegal. In 2011 Ashley was selected by Transylvania's music faculty for the Ruchmann Music Award, an award given to a well rounded music student who excels academically in both the music department and in general studies.
